Sound HealingFrequency & Brainwave Science

Everything vibrates.
So do you.

The frequencies and brainwave states that show up across a sound session at Denver Zen Den, and what's tradition versus what's documented.

Sound as a way back into the body.

The healing power of frequencies.

Sound frequency work is part of how Denver Zen Den builds a session: sound waves and tones chosen to support relaxation, focus, and emotional balance. We integrate the tradition and the science of sound healing so a session resonates with your body and mind, not just your ears.

Everything in the universe vibrates at its own frequency, including the human body. When stress, illness, or emotional strain show up, that vibration can feel disrupted. Sound-healing tradition holds that specific sound waves can help restore a sense of harmony and balance, alongside relaxation, focus, and emotional resilience. That's a tradition-informed idea, not a clinical claim, and we treat it that way.

Sound doesn't fix you. It gives your nervous system somewhere to land.

Frequencies commonly used in sound-healing practice.

These associations come from sound-healing tradition, carried forward through practitioners and teachers rather than clinical trials. We share them as context for what you may hear during a session, not as guaranteed effects.

Brainwave states, in plain terms.

Separate from frequency tradition, brainwave states are a measured, well-documented part of neuroscience: the rhythmic electrical activity your brain produces, tracked in cycles per second (Hz) on an EEG.

Worth knowing: a session doesn't force your brain into a given state. Sound and light can support a shift, but your own physiology and mindset lead.

Where to feel this.

Frequency and brainwave work aren't a stand-alone booking, they're woven through sessions like Sound Science, Stroboscopic Light, and NeuroChant. Start with whichever modality speaks to you and the frequency layer comes along with it.

Is there scientific proof that specific frequencies like 528 Hz work?

Solfeggio frequencies come from sound-healing tradition, not peer-reviewed clinical research. What is well documented is the brain's response to rhythmic sound and light, called entrainment, which several of our sessions are built around. We describe the specific-frequency associations as tradition, not medical claims.

What's the difference between a frequency and a brainwave state?

A frequency is what's played, the sound or pulse rate you hear or feel. A brainwave state is what your brain is doing, measured in Hz on an EEG. Some sessions use sound or light to try to support a shift toward a given state.

Do I need to know anything about music or Hz to benefit?

No. You lie back, breathe, and let the session run. No musical background required.

Can this replace medical or mental health treatment?

No. This is a wellness and relaxation experience, not a substitute for medical or mental health care. If you have a diagnosed condition, talk to your healthcare provider about whether a session is a good fit alongside your treatment.

Is it safe?

Generally problem-free. If your session pairs sound with stroboscopic light, consult a healthcare provider first if you have photosensitive epilepsy, glaucoma, recent eye surgery, a pacemaker, or are in your first trimester of pregnancy.

Experience it, don't just read about it.
